Between 2012 and 2022 Christian Napppert explored vast places of earth removal, mainly in the midlands of Ireland, in the Fichtelgebirge, in the middle of Europe and around Leipzig. The book sequences rhythmically photographs from an archive of images and sound, mainly of diverse earth and stones and a literary text by Steph Joyce. Marble, calcite, turf and coal, clays and loam in its plain and raw form.
